What is Google Business Profile (GBP)? ▼
Google Business Profile (formerly Google My Business) is your free business listing on Google — it appears in Google Maps and local Search results when someone looks for services in your area.
Customers usually see address, phone, hours, photos, reviews and a website link (if set).
For many local businesses, GBP is the main discovery channel — sometimes more important than the website, especially on mobile.
GBP does not replace a website or Google Ads; it complements them.
What does “AI visibility” measure in the audit? ▼
We run a fixed set of questions customers ask AI assistants — e.g. “who is a good local business in your city?” — through Groq (Llama 3), Mistral.
These are API models on free tiers (Groq Llama 3, Mistral) — not the consumer ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude apps you might use daily. They still give a useful signal: when someone asks a recommendation-style question, would a model like these mention your business?
We check whether your business name appears in the answer. The score is simple: how many responses include you, out of total tests.
What it is not:
- Not your Google Search or Google AI Overviews ranking.
- Not a guarantee you will appear in ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude or any model tomorrow.
- Not identical to what a consumer sees in a branded AI app — models and prompts differ.
- AI answers change — the same prompt can give different results over time.
Why does it matter if I get no website clicks? ▼
More searches end without a site visit — the answer appears directly in Google, Maps or an AI chat. Customers may decide based on name, reviews or phone number alone.
That is why we track mentions and presence, not just website traffic. A clear contact page still helps when someone wants more detail.
